Update:
October 18 Carter will return the states to
undergo his routine testing schedule where he will have an EEG, lab works and urinalysis to ensure things are still goin fine
with the ketogenic diet, he will also have renal scans carried out to check for kidney stones one of the many side effects
of the diet.
This visit will also include another MEG scan with Dr Lewine at the Alexian Brothers Medical Centre
in Elk Grove Village. Carter will also visit the Pathways Centre for an evaluation in Physio to see wat carter can be
capable of doing, if things go to plan we hope to put carter throught physio therapy sessions each week to see how much he
can progress.
Carter underwent two therapy assessments in the pathways centre to determine what his strengths
and weaknesses where and to give the family an idea of what things carter would be able to achieve, he firstly had a physio
assessment followed by an occupational assessment. This proved to be very postive for carter and his therapists Daisy
Tan and Angelica were able to determine that with regular intensive therapy up to 3 times per week carter would be able to
work towards learning to sit on his own, help with daily tasks such as dressing and playing and even getting on to his feet.
They also stated "carter has huge potential all he needs is time".
This is yet another very postive
outlook for carter and his family since travelling to Chicago, hes been given a second chance in life and things can only
start to get better from here on in, providing the proper services are set in place for carter. Until then carter will have
to remain travelling to the states to receive this treatment. Please check back for results to latest testing and new pics
